This project was for the JuneteenthKC/Nelson Atkins Museum's Juneteenth celebration event in 2021. They needed a series of maps and social post graphics for their events, as well as an overall art direction concept to unite the materials. This project was done in collaboration with Andrea James, with myself as the Art Director.
Above: The map shown was created to facilitate a scavenger-hunt-style riddle game.  The reader gets clues (set at the bottom of the map) to figure out which photographic icon matches back to the riddle. Each icon photo is placed within its contextual geographical location. The map itself is an abstracted map of central KC, featuring black & white elements contrasted with bright rainbow-like line art illustrating the celebration and joy in the sprit of Juneteenth.
Above: This is the parade map postcard mailer created for the JuneteenthKC cultural parade route. The postcard features cohesive elements from the Scavenger Riddle map, such as the rainbow linework and the black & white photography featuring moments of joy.
Instagram post assets to go along with the maps to promote the JuneteenthKC events.
