A mobile experience based on the concept of classic board games, as a way to showcase the data from AIGA's annual Design Census report. This was a collaborative project, with designers Halee Marimot, Andrea James, Gillian Payne, with myself as the lead project manager/designer. The board game theme led us to use paper textures and retro-esque pop colors as well as hand illustrated elements throughout.
The starting screen shown above, along with the 2nd screen which prompts the user to select a "design specialty" to play the game as. These specialties (5 in total) are represented with hand illustrated icons, and have a similar purpose to choosing an avatar at the start of a game.
Once the user has selected their design specialty "avatar" they enter the main Board screen. This screen is a long scrolling screen designed to replicate a long winding path. The user has freedom to scroll up/down as well as right/left simultaneously as they move along life's path.
While traveling along the path, the user is prompted with event buttons and choice buttons with quirky career-related situations and life happenings that pop up as overlays. The culmination of the journey has intriguing infographs about that specific type of design specialty.
